Thinking of Buying?

Blog by Claire LeLacheur | November 23rd, 2010

The best time to think about selling your home is when you are buying it. Seems odd but it is the truth.

When buying a new home you must think about resale value. Of course the old adage about location location location is very important – so important all realtors repeat it twice.

When looking at homes think very carefully about what kind of neighborhood you want to live in. By looking at comparable sales in the neighborhood, and ask about the drawbacks of the location. If you don’t want to live right next to the sky train chances are neither does a new Buyer.

Be wary of homes that back up against the sky train cut, or the rail yard. Also be wary of the lone residential house nestled in amongst the commercial and industrial buildings. Chances are that if you don’t want your back yard overlooking the trans Canada it might be a hard property to sell later on down the road.
